Finding a mechanic you can trust seems harder than ever. Besides online reviews, what do you look for when choosing an auto repair shop? Have certifications, warranties, or transparent estimates made a big difference in your experience?

I know this thread is a bit old, but I’ve had good luck asking shops if they let you see the old parts before they’re thrown away. It’s a small thing, but transparent shops usually say yes. Have you ever tried that, or does anyone else have a simple trick for spotting honest mechanics?

I focus on ASE certifications and itemized estimates before committing. Strong warranties also indicate reliability. For my own car, I trust auto repair shop phoenix az for their consistent honesty and clear pricing.
