There are 2 solutions:
1. If the language you are using is just normal English, you can use 1251-Latin encoding mode instead of Unicode. Since Unicode can only use full-width word, the space of the blank will be twice wider than the characters. Please check the attached document for how to use half-width characters fonts.
2. If you must use Unicode encoding mode, you can adjust the dot matrix size to fit the characters. As you can see the picture, the dot matrix size is doubled than your actual character size. So while you place a blank in it is much wider than you expected. You can adjust the dot matrix size until the character in the preview window fit.
