      Hello,

I am using Text Variable to display some phrases, so between each word must have a whitespace character. The problem is that the whitespace is too large (I think that is the same width of the font). The whitespace from my text editor is U+0020 and I want a thinner whitespace.

The  I tried Unicode characters from U+2000 to U+205F (https://emptycharacter.com/), but the “large whitespace” still there.

      Any idea?

      Grats.

      Dear Guillherme:

Thanks for sending us the message. Can you send a picture or screen shot to show what kind of white space it is? It will help us to solve the issue.

Thanks for reply. Follow the screenshots as requested.

        1 (TextVariable-scaled.jpg): LCD screen.

2 (FontGenerator.png): Font Generator with the font being used.

        3 (Tool.png): Stone TOOL.

        The display model is STVA070WN-01.

As you can see, the LCD screen words are separated with a large whitespaces and I would like these words be more closely together, but I do not know how to do that.

        Thanks in advance.

        Dear Guillherme:

Thanks for your reply. The information is very helpful.

        There are 2 solutions:

        1. If the language you are using is just normal English, you can use 1251-Latin encoding mode instead of Unicode. Since Unicode can only use full-width word, the space of the blank will be twice wider than the characters. Please check the attached document for how to use half-width characters fonts.

        2. If you must use Unicode encoding mode, you can adjust the dot matrix size to fit the characters. As you can see the picture, the dot matrix size is doubled than your actual character size. So while you place a blank in it is much wider than you expected. You can adjust the dot matrix size until the character in the preview window fit.

      Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the advice. Probably I am going to use (2), but I have one more question: I need characters like áãéêíóôúÁÃÉÊÍÓÔÚçÇ to display text is portuguese, there is another options instead of Unicode?

        Dear Guillherme:

For now, we can only use Unicode for special characters. In the future, we will release a new product that supports the vector font (.ttf). You can directly use any Windows font file as the display font. I’ll give you the update once the product is available.
