Hello,

I’m working an a data logger for my classic muscle car.  I watched some YouTube videos and picked the STWI050WT-01 as I liked the size of the 5″ display an the 800×480 resolution.  However, apparently I need to use a TTL to RS232 to make this work and the STWI050WT doesn’t have the solder points like the STWI070WT-01 used in the video… Are there equivalent pins on 5.0″ model or am I doing this all wrong?

These are the through hole connections on the 7.0 inch display (and others) that are missing from the 5.0 inch display.  What is the best way to mimic these connection points?  Solder/weld to the back of the connector or cut and strip the cable?

Just to close this out…  Those pins do not exist on the 5″ and smaller versions.  You have to cut the cable the display comes with, put ends on them and then put those on your breadboard, Arduino or PCB…  I hate destroying cables for no reason but it worked.
