Gentlemen,

I am far yet of being an expert in using the STVI070WT -01, but being not my first experience at all with your module I thought this task would be a very easy one. But no… After several days I need to raise my hand and ask for help.

At different points into my application’s algorithm the host controller sends (@115200 bps) a string A5 5A 04 80 03 00 02 to load “image 2”, or A5 5A 04 80 03 00 01 to load “image 1”.

These commands are sent as part of a consecutive command sequence (6-7 in total), being the first one of the sequence.

In general, it works, but not always… What results stranger for me is that only that particular command of the entire sequence is the one showing a malfunctioning behavior.

I have been trying to figure out the root cause with different approaches but I have had no success so far.

I have verified via oscilloscope (one with reading RS-232 bus capability) that the sequences of commands are properly sent with no syntaxis errors.

This have led me to several questions (please, take a quick look to the file attached):

–          What operational conditions, in your manufacturer opinion, could prevent the module to execute this particular command? (A consecutive sequence of commands? No delay between the commands?)

–          Is there any firmware update that I should get? Please provide the link.

–          I have found a post in the forum mentioning a two-byte FF FF termination for this command, but have failed finding it in the documentation.

FF FF is used in text input commands to indicate termination.

Gentlemen, sorry for the delay in getting back to this subject.

Problem was solved by introducing a 250-300 mS delay after the switch image command. That is, the next command will reach the module 250-300 ms after the swhitch image one.

I am not claiming this is an official solution, I am just sharing the approach that worked for me just in case it can help others to overcome a similar problem.

Being an image change, it made sense to me that the switch image command’s execution will need some time to upload the new image before the module’s processor were able to take care of the next command. Apparently (just my understanding) if a new command is received before the image switch was completely executed, the new image upload results cancelled.
