    May be you’re using a RS232 UART display. In this case you need a level adaptor in order to communicate with Arduino that instead uses a TTL level UART

    What other hardware would be required to communicate it with Arduino?
    However, all the UART devices I have worked with so far are directly connected to the arduino with the help of only 2 tx and rx pins.
